Have gotten images off my cannon HD HF 10 using automatic upload to pc. Slid the cache of recorded images over to desktop from stream but my windows media player doesnt play them - just black screen.

The clips come up as MTS - whatever that means? I have done it before but forgotten how to - can someone help me please.

MTS is just an extension, like .avi or .mp4. It means your files are AVCHD Video Files. You can find more info and opening instructions in the link - ?url? http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/mts?/url?.

You can play them (and just about anything) with VideoLAN VLC media player (its free, just google it.) WMedia Player isn't very good imo.
