Hi,

I want to move to the next step and start becoming much more involved in film making and I have two short questions i could use some help on. I realise the internet is useful but sometimes there is just too much information when all you want is a straight aswer from someone who knows more than you!

1. I want to start/join a small "crew" of like minded people to make films with on a regular basis. In your expereince whats the most successful way to do this??

2. Who/where are the best people to approach to offer my time to work free of charge on productions. Im talking proffesional productions. Ill make tea...anything!!

I live in Kent near London if this helps.

Many thanks in advance.

Matt

Basically you need to get out there and meet people; if you can find work on one low-budget movie and are at all competent you'll probably soon find work on more.

There are a number of movie-making groups in London who have web sites. One I worked with before is at:

There's also 'Shooting People', which used to be a good way to find like-minded people to work on low-budget movies:

As to professional productions, you could try working as a runner in London if you can afford to do it on very little pay; otherwise you may find you can get jobs that way through people you meet on low-budget shoots who already have professional jobs too.
