This summer I'm shooting a short on my Canon XL2 as part of a collective film project. However, one of the rules for the project asks that I shoot in either a 1.77:1 or 2.35:1 aspect ratio. No 4:3 or 16:9 allowed. My question is this: does anyone know whether or not there are any Canon lenses on the market that'll allow me to shoot in either aspect ratio? Is it a matter of just purchasing a different kind of lens? Please offer any advice that you can. Thanks!
Hint: what's sixteen divided by nine 🙂 ?
Ya know, they say you learn something new every day. I have (of course) seen 16:9 for many years and never until today made the division connection - even though it's right there in front of me.
Thanks Mark.
