ive got a pd150 im sure i read somewhere that the lcd screen is 100k pixels but 600k pixels on screen. but that is a 3ccd pixel resolution on tv?
cos i was thinkin if it was 1mill thats cr** cos you can get a cheap camera for like ?50 for that and now mob have 3mill pixels. maybe im confused. maybe there both totally different. i dont know but wht is the res on a 3ccd cam and what is it on a HD cam?
whts the main advantages of HD over 3ccd? i dont get y everyone going hd mad.

You're mixing two different things.
CCD stands for Charge Coupled Device. It's a chip inside your camera that determines the brightness of the picture and the brilliance of the colors it records. When there are three, each one is arranged to respond to a particular color - it splits the image into red, green and blue components.
The more pixels each CCD has, the better the picutre. The effective pixel count is the pixel count of the combined CCD's, the gross pixel count has to do with the number of pixels on the CCD.
Most HD cameras have 3CCD's (some use one CMOS sensor) so there is no advantage of HD over 3CCD. There is a difference on the amount of pixels between SD, HDV and HD. The reason why many people (not everyone) is going HD mad is because as the price comes down the movie maker is able to afford a better picture.
