Right now im going to a Community college and im going to transfer to Suny Purchase to major in Film. I wanted to know if anyone has gone or heard anything about this film school. From what i heard sounds like a great place to go for the price and everything. I just wanted to know if anyone had any backround info on it.
anyone have any info on this school
Yeah. They don't accept people into their film program based on experience or talent no matter what they tell you. So don't excprct a fast education, sorry to tell you. You'll have to go with the pace the rest of your class is.
Film majors that go there are accpeted solely for their previous grades (high school) and nothing else. I was going to apply but didn't want to be surrounded by kids that didn't have a damn clue what they were doing. Also, they shoot only in film (which can be good or bad).
Well im not looking for a fast education. I just really think that might be the place for me. They look at high school? If i were transfering from a diffrent college i think they would look at that rather then my high school grades from 3 years ago.
I didn't know they shoot only on film. Sounds like alot of money is going to be spent on my student films.
I wonder what kinda editing system they use.
Well yeah, if you're transferring then obviously they'd look at your college grades. I go to Emerson and I *ing love it. There are so many organizations that will help you shoot yout film, help u cast, help u edit, produce it etc. Even give you money to use for your film that you dont have to pay back.
I'm a freshman here. I moved in on sept 5th classes started sept 15th, and the 2nd weekend i was here, I worked on an action film. This weekend i am working on a feature film. I love this *ing school.
