The accent in question was a non-regional dialect (aka California) accent. If it annoys you Hollywood movies must drive you batty. the site was interesting but they never really explained how you cook the sugarglass into bottle shape. Do they make molds? Half molds?

In all honesty what there saying is really useful, just that its Foreign to my ear that all. Probs sound just as annoying to them if it was us (Brits) who made it. All in all I'm glad that I found it actually. Cleary.

LOL some times, but not as much as American actors trying to do an Irish accent (Now thats annoyying).

Some times when English actors/actresses act they tend to act with an American accent, if I ever audition some one who dose that (Unless its an American charcter obviously) then they have pretty much killed any chance they stood of me casting them (A real turn off). LOL all you Yanks (LMFAO) must think I'm going on a relentless anti American campaign here lol but Its only banter so dont take offence. Cleary.

Oddly most of us Yanks get a very positive impression from a British accent. To be honest most can't tell Irish from Australian from Cockney but it all sounds more educated. A Cockney can come over and act all professorial and generally get away with it.

Beyond that England alone has a dozen varieties. My guess is that American actors don't know one variety from the other, mix them up, and basically screw the lot. I understand why Rowling insisted on British actors for the Potter movies.

I've seen a lot of British actors do spot on American accents but then again we only have a handful of accents compared to England (we got a much later start and our regional media helps limit the super-regional-varieties).

I'm amazed they know Manchester United, but I guess with Beckham in states these days LA has little choice. The media blitz has been fierce and I"m not even in LA.

Typical American, I don't follow Soccer/Futball although I did love the movie Victory. So basically I have no idea who Erickson is except he makes pretty decent mobile phones.

You know Pele is the reason that soccer players have to pass the ball to start off the game. He scored from midfield. The man is a legend.

Pele was in it as well as a bunch of 80s era European soccer studs plus Michael Cain pretending he could play and Stallone not even pretending so they made him goalie.

Basically it's a remake of the Great Escape with Soccer mixed in. Great movie though.

Bend it like Beckham was cool but it was weird hearing the girls talk about how great it was to play soccer in the US. I know they meant women's soccer but it was weird anyway. And the coach picking the lead rather than Kiera showed to me that he had vision problems that would have made him a poor coach.

Hi rj. sven goran erickson is Man citys new manager. And the old thai priminister is their new owner.

Im not into football much. I love my boxing though. The only time really that i become a football fan is when i have lots of United supporters around me and i want to piss them off and cause some controversy. lol

Boxing is the best
