I believe gradav do it in NE London but never been in touch so not certain. The link is http://www.gradav.co.uk/
You could also make your own but it wont be easy to begin with.
You can google a recipe for sugarglass, there is some stuff too about making into bottles which would be harder, but i imagine if you
cut a plastic bottle into two
and then paste the sugar paste onto the inside so its thickly coated.
maybe using clingfilm to seperate the mould.
Take the mould off and glue pieces together.
Sound fx can be done in post.

Its a little expensive seeing as you'll need several of them in order to get a good take. Even if you think you could do it in one take, you'll need an extra in case you break it. I would personally try making it. On youtube, search for making sugarglass, and there is a video tutorial where a guy makes a sheet of sugar glass in a baking sheet then uses it for glass in a fire extinguisher(sp?, sorry, I'm not on Firefox) case. I would personally get wax, melt down some candles or whatever, and get two congruent containers, and fill them with wax. Then, press them together with a beer bottle or whatever kind you need in it so that the top of the bottle is just at the edge of the containers. Then, fill up the bottle with molten wax, dipping a string in so it comes out the top, and once it has hardened, carefully break the bottle around it. Keep the wax inside intact. Then, make sugar glass and pour it into the mold which has the wax from inside the bottle hanging in it, so that it is high enough for the bottle to have a base. This make take several tries, but TaDa! Instant perfect breakaway sugarglass bottle that is capable of being filled with liquid, or possibly(for a cool effect) a blood mixture? Then when it breaks on a head or so it bleeds majorly.
That's how I'd do it :).

I also found this place too, it tells you how to make sugarglass the simple way.
Just in case you still don't really know how to do it, I have found what I think to be the best tutorial ever on how to make it.

I went on you tube and typed in how to make suger glass and found a pretty useful video contri by indie mogul or some thing. Its pretty usefull information, even if a little annoying to watch (No offence to you Americans, but to me his accent is hidiously painful to listen to). Also theres another link on there for home made suibs (Not useful to me personally), which I remember some one posting questions in the past asking how to make them. Check it out even if you dont need either as I'm sure theres some other things that you might find genrally useful to know. Cheers for suggesting that by the way, Cleary.

Hi clear the video you found was the one thats linked by ace. The accent is annoying but i think they are trying to do it slightly tongue in cheek

Hi rj. The link is http://www.indymogul.com/. thats the main site. Theyre young filmmakers. Basically seems like they just picked up the camera, had quite a few good ideas, and put it to film.
It does have a lot of good stuff on, esp for cheap special fx. I like the rocketman part.
Also is a good platform for people who want to get their own ideas promoted.
I found them through you tube 3-4 weeks ago.
I think the accen is just because theyre young and approaching it in a fun way. This makes it stand out a bit more. Is a good site Rj.
