At least i think i am. I have a 5 page script that i've wanted to shoot for a long time. I'm a post pa and grateful for the work but would like to balance it out by creating things. I'll just get it out of the way. I tend to be overly critical and have the tendency to be a perfectionist but i don't think that's the case here. I was satisfied with it but there are questions i'm wondering if i've answered because i'm thinking and looking at the story as a viewer. Is this moment believable? Did that character suffer enough? Was that pay off worth it?

Maybe every question can't be answered in the writing room because you never know what'll happen in a casting session, set or cutting room but these questions keep me up at night. I can usually figure things out by talking to people, keep writing, getting away from it, walks, music, movies etc but not this time.

If anyone is willing to read it, pm me and i'll email it.

The story has been on the shelf long enough. I've sent it to a lot of people and they all say it's fine but i'm not convinced. I'm not expecting an oscar winner here. I'm happy to do and learn from every experience but the story is all i have to give in the early stage to cast, crew and others. Story is everything. I'm open to new ideas throughout the whole process but i want to NAIL the story now. As much as possible. Don't want to keep thinking but never do.

Thanks for any thoughts and advice.

Just make it! Your first short films will all miss the mark in some way. The point of making your first, second, third film is not to have a perfect debut. Your goal is to get as many mistakes out of the way as possible.
Shoot it, edit it, and let people react to it. By the time you're done, you'll have a thousand ideas for how it could have been better, and they can launch you into your next film.

?Thanks.

I understand what you're saying. I've made a few things already and i'm by no means a pro. I'm just hoping to solve a few things in the script phase if possible so shooting and editing will be 'easier'.
