I'm trying to get a feel for what kind of camera I should get as my first mini-DV camcorder. I'm looking for something with 3CCD's of at least 1/5" each, inputs and outputs for audio and video, does not have to perform spectacularly in low light but I don't want to have to have this thing in full sun justto get a descent picture.

I've looked at:
JVC GR-HD1
JVC JY-HD10U
SONY HDR-HC1
Panasonic PV-GS500

Any help would be great. I'm trying to keep it under a grand because i only have just under 500$ saved so far while I'm working on a script.

The HD1 has a pretty poor reputation. The HC1 produces good pictures, but not in low light. I'm not sure about the others.
