Hi everyone first time so bear with me I have a completed Horror novel I am looking for collaboration with a producer, and or production company. The story is sound and the characters well developed.
If anyone has suggestions, guidance or interest, the synopsis and teaser are at http://www.myspace.com/squarerootofevil any help would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome Randy.
My first suggestion is to work on your pitch. The synopsis on your
MySpace page is poorly written. I suggest pulling out the cliches
and tightening it up. Read 40/50 synopsis's to get the feel for
how they are written.
What producers are going to look for is a good logline. 90% of the
decision comes from what is called a high concept pitch. A
producer needs to think they can market the finished film easily
before they put money into it. Help them right up front by giving
them a excellent logline and synopsis.
And your "teaser" is simply Revelation 12:4. Doesn't really show
off YOUR talents as a writer.
Since you don't have a script a producer will not only need to
option the rights from you, but then hire a screenwriter. That's a
lot of up front money for any producer to come up with. Especially
for an unpublished novel.
My second suggestion is to write the screenplay. That is what a
producer will be interested in - not so much an unpublished novel.
You've got a lot of work ahead of you. Are you ready for it?

Thank you for the feedback I have up dated the synopsis, and will select a better teaser. I have found a screenwriter that is interested, he has reviewed the first three chapters and gave it the thumbs up. He is now reviewing the whole manuscript, I should hear back from him in the next day or so.
Congrats! I hope this writer works out for you.
