Does anybody know were I can find some good sound effects? I'm looking for a heartbeat and sounds for punches & kicks.

if you search google for sfx you should come up with some stuff. It's tough because alot of the punch and kick sfx you can get online for free sound really cheesy. So unless you buy a sfx cd you could go real ghetto and just get your mic of camera on and hit stuff like pillows and stuff. I'm sure you could find a good heart beat sfx on line.
Here are some links:

just type in "sound fx" in google and you will get tons of stuff

I remember seeing a documentary on foley work (sound effect creation) and they basically had a plywood stage and all kinds of miscellaneos things that were basically household items. I remember that they actually used vegetables to make alot of sounds like celery breaking for punches and breaking watermelon rinds. It was amazing how many different sounds they could get, the even kept going after the watermelon was just pulp to ge a "mushy" sound. Also I think they used canvas bags with flower in them and hit that to make body hit sounds. For sounds of people hitting the ground they wore kneepads and were crawling around on the stage and "hopping on there knees. While they were doing this they had the video playing on a projector so they could get the timing right. If you're thinking of doing this I'd do some research into microphones because a good mic will be important.
Hope this helps.

I seem to remember Lloyd Kaufman saying that at Troma they got a dead pig and recorded the sound as they hit it with baseball bats :). Don't know whether they ate it afterwards...
One option with some of the crappy free sound effects on the web is to layer them on top of each other: one effect might sound bad, but mix it with a couple of others and often it's quite usable. I've accumulated a gigabyte or so of free effects but have no idea where I got them from (other than those that we recorded ourselves for various past movies).
