Hey everyone, I'm a new director/producer and I'm wondering if there are any sites that would allow other directors, and people see my movie so as to gain exposure for my movies and business, Samn Films. The website is samnfilms.webs.com if you want to see the movie it'll be posted soon. Also is there any type of document or something you have to sign to publish your movie legally? Thanks for the help everyone I'm sort of a newbie filmmaker.
-Heya
I know a couple people use Vimeo.com. I don't know any of the legal stuff but I know it lets you put full movies up. But if you planning on entering your films into a film festival I wouldn't put it up as it can keep your film from being entered.
Vimeo has a 500MB file size limit (for free account), which precludes a long feature film in decent quality; it's either a short at HD quality, or full feature at poor web quality.
YouTube limits length to 10 minutes and size to 2GB, which is enough for fairly decent 1080p quality (equivalent of 27Mbps).
Vimeo is great, apart from other things, for its community. If you wanted to get involved there it could be really beneficial, maybe not. If you put up a good short there though, chances are it WILL be noticed, usually provided you are involved with the community a bit.
Are we talking about a feature here? The problem with that is that many people simply won't watch an entire feature length film on a video sharing site. You could definitely gain exposure through good trailers and even links to your own site, however. I don't know how much help it could be for the business side of things though.

You could post your film trailer here for free after using Vimeo or YouTube,

One advantage to FilmProposals is that it is only indie films (unlike the other sites that are all kinds of videos) - and a place distributors and acquisitions execs go to look for films. For example, this week, was contacted by three people looking to pick up films for Cannes.
