When giving a script to an actor, is it normal for them to sign a form that they will return the script and will not produce the movie on their own? I am concerned about my screenplay being plagiarized. I plan on copyrighting my work but do I need more protection?

Normally, this really isn't an issue. Rare is the Actor who is out to steal screenplays so that he can go be a Director.

But for more on contracts and other legalese, check out the array of resources from Mark Litwak: ?url? http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=mark+litwak&x=0&y=0?/url?

No it's not normal. Actors do not steal scripts and produce the movie on their own,

It is more common for someone to option the script (sometimes for a very low amount) then if it becomes a go picture with financing someone will arrange for the purchse and obligated one rewrite before the actor, studio, or director puts their writer on it.

Cover yourself with the copyright office and WGA just to be sure.
