Name:
Mark Lovegrove
Number of Years in the field:
I've been making my own short films since 13, so 9 years.
Duties Performed:
Directing, editing, camerawork, sound, producing...I could list it all but take it from me, a little bit of everything.
Education Needed or Gained:
None needed. A Levels in Media & currently doing a BND in moving image to act as a foundation for a video production business.
What skills should someone focus on:
Depends on your area, if you want to be a general film-maker you probably want to know a bit of it all, camera operation, people management, editing software...
What do you like best about being a filmmaker:
Every project is new & different, and a second on screen could have a whole tale or story behind it that only I and my team will get to treasure & remember 🙂 I cry with happiness when people enjoy my movies & laugh along with them, it's a gooood feeling.
What is youre biggest headache from Pre to Post Production:
Casting friends as actors and getting permission for locations. The biggest problem I ever face is PLI - public liability insurance ><
How much do you make (Optional):
Nothing, and I don't need to! Any money I would make would go on my next production.
How many people do you typically work with on a project:
Up to 10 people.
