Well I know you're starting off but trust me, this is for your own good. A director is responsible for the performance of the actors. You didn't do a good job in directing them. The acting was poor. The script needs work, especially the dilogue. THe cinematography was the most distracting of all. You need to choose your angles wisely. Learn the camera movements:
CRAB - camera moves completely to the left/right
PAN - camera pivots left or right
ZOOM - camera zooms in/out from subject

TILT - camera pivots up or down
BOOM - camera moves up or down.

DOLLY - camera moves in/out from subject

The only time you did a good job was in the saturated scenes in that mystical world or whatever. And even then, you could have made it look even better by making your shots smoother. You did a good job of keeping everything in one perspective and not moving all around the actors. Now just work on making the shots look charming. Like the mail box view, was there a need for that goofy shot? What you should have done is start at the profile view of him getting the mail and CRAB right as far as possible as he walks to the house, then film the back of him getting inside the house.Simple.

Work on your editing, too. There was many instances where things were changing too abruptly, etc. Good luck!

wow thanks man that actually does make sense to me.
so in a scene is it generally the standard to start on one side and make the camera go to the other side through the use of different shots as the scene progresses?

yea then again we also only had 5 days from concept to post mark date deadline.
and i had trouble directing the actors because i had to shoot it to. to be honest i was going for results on almost every scene. just didint have the time. 5 days is short even if its only an 8 minute movie.

but thanks man u did help alot.
anyone else care to help me out?
