Hi. Have you considered renting a camera or seeing if anyone you know has one you can borrow? Just a thought.

Canon Optura 20 Mini DV Camcorder

This is an OK camera's for it's price.
Biz rate has it for anywhere between $450 and $600 it's only a 1CCD, but depending on what your looking to do with it you should be ok.

If you check sites like bizrate.com and countless other you can find tiny camera's, Sony makes very good mini-dv cams too. I currently use 2 Sony VX2100 and I'm very happy with there quality, but I think canon and JVC make a larger selection in the smaller sizes. I will keep my eyes open and send anything cool I find your way.

Yeah I believe you can manipulate video with adobe premier. I'm using FCP4 so I've never used any of the other editing programs, but there are plenty out there to choose from.

The Panasonic GS70 and GS120 are both 3CCD cameras and very very smal. Probably smaller then the ones you've looked at. I have a GS70 they go for about 500-700 now.
