I have a question. I?m going to be directing a short film in a couple weeks that will hopefully go the film festival route (would be my first), and I?m wondering about a line in the script.
In the script the line appears ?Telemarketers consider Ron Popeil the devil?.
I?m worried that this could cause problems, and possible law suits. Although the line is true, that telemarketers do consider him the devil for those ?Set it and forget it? infomercials, but is this going to cause a problem.
Not to mention saying the ?Set it and forget it? line. Can we get away with saying any of these, or referring to an actual product? The product isn?t bad mouthed; the only bad thing said is ?Telemarketers consider Ron Popeil the devil?.
Should I cut this, or is it okay?

I'm not real smart with all the legal stuff, but I'm pretty sure *legally* they could sue you for it. Though I highly doubt they would.
