Hm... where to begin.
When i was younger i always said i wanted to make a change.
I'm a terrible student so i cut "doctor" out of the picture...
i do plan on going to college for filmmaking because it's pretty much the only thing that will make me happy.
My sister bought me a camcorder 2 or 3 years ago for christmas- but other than that- i have no equipment to get started.
I'm moving out in june so i figured since this is the last year "santa" will be getting me anything, i should make it worth while.
i tried looking up something for a little help: an idea as to what i should ask for.
i got nothing.
so.
i was wondering if anyone could tell me the necessities on beginning my career in independent filmmmaking.
You need digital editting software to get anyware. If you're on a Mac, get Final Cut Pro. Although it may not seem newbie-friednly, I find it's nice to just plunge into the big stuff, not to go slowly. If you're on a PC I can't really help you, so ask somebody with more PC expertise. Besides that you'll probably want to buy some books or something. Get a way to teach yourself filmmaking.
