From what www.collegeboard.com It doesn't offer a major for anything pertaining to film. So I don't see how it could have a decent film program. Sorry man. -dean

Hey man, I'm just telling you what The Collegeboard says. Check it out here: http://apps.collegeboard.com/search/CollegeDetail4.jsp?buttonPressed=&searchId=0&collegeId=2185&detailPageId=3&collegeName=San+Francisco+State+University It says they offer a major in Film/Cinema Studies and that they have some sort of film program but I don't see how it could be halfway decent since it only offers one major in the field. All the decent film schools (ie. Columbia Chicago, Emerson, Columbia, NYU, Ithaca) offer just about every major for it. Just about every film school in the country has screenings, it's pretty much become a standard, so i wouldn't bank on the fact that since it has a film festival every year, its a great school. Wish you luck anyway. -dean

I'm a film student at SF state and believe me, it's a good program. We have great equipment, and our program is funded by August Coppola, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

I forgot to mention that within the major program you can emphasize on what you're particular field is. Mine is Directing, but you can emphasize on producing, writing, etc. at SFSU.

i may be the only one who thinks this... but film school is for suckers, and kids who's parents think that the only way you get a job in any industry is with a degree. besides that i've never met a film student who knew... ....well.. anything at all.

There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently.

I kinda agree... u can get into the film industry without college... the only thing college gives is insight into other ppls works which u can get from watching all the movies anyways... best way is to just play around with video
