Questions about Producers

I was wondering if there's any resource out there that could possibly tell me a producer's specific involvement in a specific film?

The reason I ask this is because I have an interview for film school, and one of the questions is to talk about a specific producer that I admire and talk about their involvement in the project.

While there's many films that I love, it's hard to pinpoint what so-and-so did in a film. Is there anyway to find out? If anyone could help, that would be really helpful and I'd greatly appreciate it!

producer just aquires the funds and manages the business aspect of it. They dont have to know any more about film other than what to buy. Thats like assuming a recording label has anything to do with the creation of an album. strange question for a film school. Maybe its a trick question, as such you could always respond about a particular producer thats had little to no involvement, and say thats the best type.

Some producers just get money and leave the rest to the director and production manager, some are far more hands-on than that. Producer is one of those jobs that can cover a lot of different areas.

Yeah, that much I do know and that's why I think the question is hard to answer.

I'm thinking that they want an answer similar to, "So and so raised this much money when no one else could" or "So and so turned this whole project around by bringing so and so on board"

It's hard to find specifics examples...

I think the answer should be tailored to what you want to do. If you want to be a director you should find someone who produces and directs and build your answer around that.
