ive only seen avid certification courses for like $1000 give or take, i was wondering if theres another way, if not, is it worth it to spend that to learn the software or is it somthing i can learn on my own?
Im no pro, so take this for what its worth, but if your looking to get certified so you can become a professional editor then you might have more luck just learning the program, editing a piece and using that as your resume. All the pretty pieces of paper in the world wont stand up to a display of your skills.
If you just want to learn it, i believe there is a avid tutorial torrent floating about that is quite informative. Its avid express specific, but im sure most of the concepts/tools are the same (if your using liquid or composer).
You could always take a course at your local college, see what they offer.
