I am shooting a scene in the dark but from a distance. the image comes in clear but has some slight pixilization. would progressive scan fix this problem or make this scene have more pixilization?

I also have another question related to progressive scan if i may add it. What exactly is "progressive scan"? My MiniDV Camera (Panasonic PVGS70 3CCD) has it. What is it and what does it do? is it good or bad? should i turn it on or off? Can i turn it on or off? Any feedback would be helpful. -dean

sorry that does not answer my question. my question was will it help get rid of pixilization in my video, or would increase the pixilization?

Do you have a camcorder with progressive scan capability? If so, why don't you just go test it to see if the pixels are reduced? Progressive scan can smooth out the image and recued artifacts, but I'm not sure how it'll work at night in low-light conditions. I don't think that alone will fix your problem.
