Programmes Format for single camera drama

Hi there,

I need some help... what are the appropirate formats for a single camera drama?

any help would be ace

I think you need to elaborate on the question so we understand it :).

If you mean what would you shoot a TV drama on, typically it would be Digibeta in the UK, or maybe HDCAM 16mm or 35mm film at the high end. US shows seem to use HDCAM and 35mm a lot more than UK shows.

thanks for the reply,

heres some more deatil... appropriate formats that employ single camera drama techniques (tv and film)

just need some help with formats

anyway more help or links to pages, would be ace guys

I'm still not sure I understand the question either.

Nearly everything uses a single camera outside of sitcoms and award shows and I think the main reason those don't is because they are shot live in front of an audience which would die of boredom from the repitition required and constant delays of changing camera and lighting and sound around.

The appropriate format beyond that is impossible to pin down. Some folks use 16mm others prefer 32mm others still digital video or HD Digital or even IMAX. We need details to answer your question further. Peraps background on why you want the information would help us devine what you are really looking for.
