Have written a script based upon our true life story. We have queried a few Production companies and all have requested a copy (haven't heard back from them yet), wondering if anyone knows of any production companies that LOVE true life stories?
There are many people who love any story, if it's good!
Unless your story revolves around a public character or involves true people who made national headlines, or at the very least created a huge stir in your hometown... Then you may consider tweaking the marketing and downplaying the "true life" aspect.
Most stories are based on personal experience, on some level. And if the story has a great hook, then make that your focus. What is the concept of your story in one sentence?
That's the selling point.
