I'm creating an editing system and would love to have both systems and eventually plan to...however I right now need one: either the PC or the Mac. A Hyper threading P4 2.6ghz fsb running Vegas (and if I'm lucky Avid) versus a G5 running FCP. Any takers on the REAL benefits and shortfalls on each of these setups?

If i were you, i would start on a mac only because you could have both avid and final cut on ur computer. Are you a student? I bought Avid Xpress DV for only $400 at www.journeyed.com

Yea...they say Macs are overall better to start out on. At the workshop I'm attending this summer, they will be only using Mac computers with of course, Final Cut pro.
