I am a young, aspiring film maker. I am looking to buy a camera, and through much searching i pretty much have my heart set on a Panasonic Sdr H40. I think it is perfect for my price range and what i am looking for from a camera at this time. Does anyone have any past experiences with or have heard anything about this camera that could be helpful to me?
Hate for the testosterone to come out... but that's not much of a camera. I know you're just starting out, but you should at least get something 3 chip. Perhaps the affordable Panasonic PV-GS320?
Welcome to filmmaking.net, mikeA. In the 1CCD, HDD catagory
the SDR-H40 is fine. No reall difference from any other camera
under $500. It's a fine camera to get to get started. Use it to make
as many movies as you can. Learn to light well, learn to work
with actors and crew, learn to schedule your shoot days, learn how
to tell your stories with the camera and editing.
