Hello all,

I am a new film maker. I am insterested in doing some multi-day out door filiming, mountains.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to protect my equipment? How to do people store their cams, media, etc when out in the wilderness? Any suggestions on covers for filming in the poor weather? I HOPE that light rain will be the worst.

Many thanks in adavance for any help/suggestions.

Robert

My advice might seem a bit obviouse but here it goes anyway: Dont film in bad weather unless you 100% have to, and if you do have to then hold a coat or something above the camera if its raining. I saw a D.I.Y. camera cover on youtube made from plastic, but I doubt its practicle to use unless you dont intend to use the audio, well unless your going for the rain on plastic effect? Anyway if you want to check that out then search indiemogule on www.youtube.com and see if it's helpful to you or not? Cleary.

When I'm in the wilderness I store my camera in its case, keep it
off the ground and even have a rain slicker to cover it when it
rains. I keep the media in ziplock bags. I use plastic tarps or
waterproof canvas covers for the grip equipment.

If It's actually raining when I'm shooting I use an umbrella and
the plastic or canvas covers to cover the camera.
