Hey there guys, this section is marked newbie questions right? My question is as follows. I have recently decided to start making short films. I?m still researching all avenues (cameras; scriptwriting; post-production software; etc)

Well does anyone know of sites or books that I can look into with regards to terminologies and guidelines and the likes?

Another thing... I checked out this editing software called HyperEngine-AV 1.4 ( http://www.arboretum.com). I was wondering if this software is most suited for your normal holiday filmmaker or for someone that is serious about their projects?

Any help would be appreciated?

The Filmmaker's Handbook.
It contains all the terms, lingo and tools you need to know.
I believe it is updated every 3 -5 years.
