Isn't there something that works just like a clapboard to sync the sound with the movie, it's like a radar screen and everytime the radar goes around once, it beeps and subtracts one from the number, like a 3 *beep* 2 *beep* 1 *beep* sequence...what is that called and where can I find a video of one?
Thanks,
Andrew J. Leer
It's called a countdown leader, Academy leader or a "2-pop" - because the only "beep" is on the two. The term '2-pop' is a hang-over from the traditional film leader countdown used for syncing picture roll with your sound mag roll. In the traditional film leader countdown, each number on the countdown leader is 24 frames, 8-7-6-5-4-3- but the number two is always one frame only, and followed by two seconds (or 48frames) of black. And now your show begins, either sound or picture or both...This is the standard for all films!
sonnyboo.com might have one. Final Cut Pro has one built into the program.
