I use the gs320 and with 3 point lighting I can get my footage to look pretty good through my little lcd screen on my camera, but when I hook my camera to my tv, its as if a lot of the quality is lost. Why is this happening and what can I do to fix this? Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks
Damian

well dude this is pretty basic. (example) When you take a picture thats 40*40 pixels is put on a 1" screen it looks pretty good, but when its strectched out onto a 40" TV the pixels have to stretch out so much the quality is lost. Again this is a huge exaggeration but I think you can understand it that way.

it makes sense...so much so that I pretty much feel like an idiot lol is there anyway to improve the picture quality or am I going to be forced to only play my videos on small screens to keep the quality?

No. Start using a regular TV hooked to your camera and light according to what you see on the TV. And now that you've gotten pretty good at 3-point lighting, it's time you branched out and used more lights. I've used the GS500 as a "B camera" on several movies that went to the DTV market. Keep working and learning.

The best tvs to hook up to i think are sony. These appear to have the correct input settings already installed. However that would be damn expensive so if anyone knows of a good (say 14inch) lcd screen that should suffice. You need to power it somehow

Thats why on some sets you get the director watching a smal monitor instead of the action because its a clearer vision.

Also you want your target to be in the middle of the screen (usually)
this is harder to achieve on a small lcd. imagine 1cm from the middle on a 1inch scree will be 30cms from the middle on a 30inch screen.

My maths may be a bit out there but hopefully i have given you the right picture
