Hello All - I've been shooting MiniDV home films for 15Yrs/ I have captured my vast quanities of film to PC in avi format.... I have also grouped various scenes and so on... I have done well editing/making finished films using Sony Vegas... I would like to make my films more interesting.... Some of my footage would look great if I edited it and produced it like a sports game (IE: I have a lot of my sons hockey footage - and I would like to finish it as a "NHL" broadcast - complete with all the player name slide it titles, keep a transluciant score board and game time in the upper right...switch to a player 'Bio' overlay when I have a closeup of a player...and so on)
I also have many home videos of parties and gatherings, with clips of friends talking and saying humours things - for this type of video I would like to have the ability of having a nice title of the persons name (seems sony vegas has just text) and I would like to have some 'Popup' comments of my own - Similar to "Popup Video' or that dating show on TV where they popup all the bubbles with different text in it....
If anyone knows what I mean - and what I want to acomplesh on these videos - then please ---- guide me as to what I have to do - and what I need for software... as I havent got a clue where to go next in my filmmaking....
Thanks all in advance --
First let me state I do not know anything about the vegas software. I do have a couple of ideas you might want to try.
The scoreboard, if you do not have a still photo, google is your friend. You could take the scoreboard and bring it in as a photo/background on the title track. There are timers/clocks you can download for free...google again. Then it would be a matter of moving/sizing the scoreboard then chroma key your clock and placing where you want it to appear in the video.
The bubbles? One alternative would be to use mspaint or paintshop pro etc and create one. Then it would be a matter of bringing it into your title track and placing where you want in the video.
Hope you find my ramblings useful.
