Can anyone link me to a website, besides the Mayor's office or 411, that can tell me about making the move to NYC and getting your foot in the door?
Or even better, tell me here, how should someone approach different feature film production companies out there and what to expect?
There are websites that will help you find apartments, you might save alot of money living in Hoboken though. By the way, looking for a room mate? Got a job starting up there soon, might need to live there.

hey, about getting ur foot in the door in NYC, im new to film etc. but i have many friends in the acting industry, the most successful way to make it happen is to get an agent. I dont know if you're talking about acting or what. But ifyou're talking about acting, NYC is a very professional place, i suggest getting an agent. Now if you're talking about writing, NYU (The Tish School) and SUNY Albany have 2 of the greatest film programs in the US. I hope i helped. my email is mrx347?bellatlantic.net

I don't have a link but I do remember a bit of advice from Loyd Kaufman of Troma studios. When you get clearance for a scene shot in a public place make certain everyone tells the truth about what is going to be shot. He had a scene of a big fat man running naked through Times Square and the cops were suprised and pissed and wouldn't let him shoot the rest of the day. He was pretty sure if they'd told them what the scene was about they wouldn't have cared.

Are you sure about that SUNY Albany film school? I lived in Albany growing up and have a couple friends who go there and I had absolutley no idea they even had a film school. I have also done alot of research about good film schools and not once did SUNY Albany ever come up. But then again im not God and dont know everything. Not to mention i hear their dorm are like dungeons. I have heard USC and NYU are the top two in the country. Yet, film school is a whole nother thread.
