I am having some trouble finding good editing programs that don't cost an arm and a leg. I need a video editing program and a music making program. I prefer the video editor to be able to have some aduio editing features and stuff as far as adding music.
Can anybody please recommend some that is either free or doesn't cost more than $100?
Thank you,
Gray

iMove is a great, free editing software that includes some nice audio features. A friend of mine recently sold a feature she edited using iMovie.

There's Avid Free DV, which is a cut-down version of their expensive editing software: http://www.avid.com/freedv/.

I only played with it before getting the full version, so I'm not sure how crippled it is.

I'm more familiar with Avid from working with it and another Pinnacle program at school. Thank you for showing me that. I will try it out tomorrow.

Movie Maker is a perfectly good program. I know some people see it as quite a primitive, antediluvian editing design but it works well enough for me.

I know that you were saying that you need a program that is free or low-cost, but if you really want a good program, you have to lay out the money for it.

I am a big PC guy, but I've found that Final Cut Pro for the Mac is the best (in my opinion) out there. But if you are insistant on using PC, then go with Adobe Premiere.

There are several sites out there that provide discounts if you are a student, so it helps a little with the cost of software. The site I like to use is: www.studica.com (I think that's the right address).

Look for second hand on Ebay, beware dodgy "cracked" copies. For PC Adobe Premiere Pro 2 is excellent.
