Is there a prop store or website that has retractable blades for survival knives? I'm sure they are not that hard to make so I might try that. Also, how would I go about the actual stabbing? It needs to look at least somewhat real with holes in the shirt ect... Ok last question for now, how can I film inside a moving truck? There is three people in the front seat. I really don't want to film the side of their faces. Thanks.

for the truck just get the camera man to lie on the hood and shoot them front on, you might need glare reduction paste though, or you could just rip the entire windshield off.
for the stabbing put a sturdy board under the actors clothing and tape some bags of blood to it when the knifer strikes the knife will pierce the shirt and the bag and look like it hit a veign.

i have to disagree with the "plank of wood" plan. 1. placing the wood under the actors shirt is going to make it look like he/she is pregnant with a....well...a plank of wood. 2. the knife would just stick in the board and would not appear to be entering the victim. In this case, it's all about angle. shooting a forward shot as the knife is swung than cutting to a rear shot of the actual "stab" will hide the fact that the knife is not actually entering the body. this way you wont have to worry about using a gaudy looking fake knife and you can still get the effect. in the same shot show the stabber violently pulling the knife out then cut back to a frontal shot complete with blood and torn shirt.
another option is to shoot the killer about to stab the victim than cut to a exteme close up of the actual knife entering the "subject". this way you can put the victims shirt over a pillow or something soft and ACTUALLY stab it. throw some blood packets inside the shirt and have the real knife do all the work.
happy filming!

Funny thing about that plank of wood suggestion. That's more or less what Akira Kurisawa did during the filming of the Seven Samuraii. Put wood under the kimono's of folks and then had experts shoot arrows into the wood.
Don't try this at home, I'm amazed nobody was killed, but the result is certainly realistic.
