Another noob question - I've just added a 3-light kit (lowel DV creator #1) and I'm in the process of learning how to get different effects with positioning/gelling/etc... I'm finding it difficult to make fine adjustments using just the LCD on my camera.
Monitoring on something bigger and better seems like a good idea, I don't have much money to add a monitor to a rig, in fact I don't even have a rig, just a tripod-mounted camera.
Do I need to use a monitor to do nice work? feedback appreciated!
I always use a monitor. I don't have a moniter "rig" - I have a small TV and put it on a chair.

CI,
I've just plugged my camera into a nearby TV, it works great. Composing shots with the TV vs. in the viewfinder is night and day, that answers that 🙂
