If i filmed my movie on MiniDV. Edited it and for some got it shown in a movie theater how would it look? Amature?

I already have my miniDV camera and i dont know anything about using film.

Then go for it!

My suggestion would be to concentrate right now on a great script with compelling characters. Then concentrate on lighting and sound and acting (among all the things you need to pay attention to during production). Then cross the tape-to-film transfer and showing it in a theater bridge when you have a finished movie that is good enough to show in the theater.

Just to add a comment from anouther person who is not in the know.
Doesnt it matter on the kind of camera you have, such as if its 3CCD or not. I couldnt imagin a 900 dollar Canon camera comparing to its XL2.
