Me and my friends are putting together a potential superhero web series shot in front of a green screen and we wanted to get some feedback.

Please let us know what you think!

Thanks!

Hi, I just watched the clip,

here are some thoughts -

I know its just test footage - but the green screen work could be done a lot better. Of course the audio needs to not be dubbed. and I think that you may have to be more daring and wilder for the show to be a hit. - by that I mean if you are to capture the Internets attention. maybe you should make the clips funnier/ more unexpected and generally 'wilder'not just full of scenes with people siting down and talking. You could even make a joke out of using bad green screen - skiting all the other web series there are out there.

I hope that is of some help,
All the best,
Amy

I think you're onto something with this, but I gotta ask: why did you shoot a dinner table scene towards a green screen? I get that it's a test, but I'm pretty sure everything would feel way more natural if you'd place the scene in a real kitchen. You'll also save a lot of time hanging out in post trying to make the picture look somehow passable.

My advice would be to do more tests and figure out how you can implement the fantastical elements into your footage so that it looks good without driving you insane with work. I see that you're trying to make your live-action footage match the comic-booky stylized backgrounds, but like this it really isn't working.

But then again - if you have solid scripts then nobody will care what it looks like beacuse they're so drawn into the story. As long as whatever style you decide to go with is consistent, and the stories/characters are good, then people will watch.

I hope you didn't get discouraged by my comment. Keep at it.

I think it was just the easiest scene to shoot. We are still experimenting. Thats half the fun!

Thanks for the feedback! Very helpful!

I really liked the effect you got. I've never seen anything quite like it. I love the outer glow on everything. If you don't mind me asking, how did you get that effect? I can get that effect in PhotoShop for a single Photo or frame but I would love to know how you did it and what you did it with for all the frames if you don't mind me asking for your recipe?

I'm a big fan of yours already! Very cool.

What've you got to lose?
