I create music as a hoby for now. I would like to compose a soundtrack for a drama film in order to practice and in order to present the outcome of this work to directors as a demonstration of my work. Do you know of any drama film without soundtrack which is free for public use ?
I would start by writing a few samples for dramatic shorts you enjoy with the sound turned off.
Once you're comfortable and think you can work on a deadline, get involved with a local 48 hour film project. That way you can compose something, get your first credit, and get some experience, too!
