what is the differences between a Bayonet lens mount and a "C" lens mount?

A bayonet mount uses a system of interlocking tabs to hold the lens in place, while a "C" mount uses a screw-threading to attach the lens to the body.

Sounds like the Bayonet mounts would be more secure than C mounts. Do you lose anything image wise when using an adapter for C to Bayonet or vice versa?

I'm not an expert on this (my only experience in interchangeable lenses comes from still photography), but in my experience, yes, a bayonet is much more secure/easier to attach than a screw mount, and there should be no loss of quality if you use an adapter.
