Hi,
I have a Sony XDCAM PDW-350L at my disposal, but I have no lens for it. I am not technical, and I don't know much about lenses, but I clearly need one. Any tips on what to get?
I have no set budget at the moment, but I want something basic to start out with, but I would like a HD lens.
I am planning to use the camera to film a horror movie to start with, but I don't want a lens that is too specific to the film type. I would rather have something I can use for a variety of different types of films, but I will most likely only be filming fiction films.
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Well, if you're not in the market for prime lenses and just want a general purpose lens to suit most situations, nearly any lens will do. I have this one http://www.expandore.com/product/add/Lenses/Fujinon/HA13X4.5BERM_BERD.htm on my Sony F900 right now and it works well for most situations. The built-in extender gives you that extra lens if you need it.
You might also try asking the question at cinematography.com or cinemtography.net, though those forums concentrate more on film gear than video.
