Hello everyone. I have a question regarding cameras. We are looking to buy some HD cameras, namely either the Canon or Sony HDV cams. I'm having a little trouble selling the idea to my boss, so his question is: Are there any advantages of sticking with a full size SD, DVCAM camera such as the Sony DSR-500 as opposed to a say Canon XL A1? I know the low light capability is definately a factor but are there any other factors besides the fact that one shoots in SD and the other shoot in HD. His main concern is losing something that the SD camera will do, that the smaller HD camera will not.

Another worry is the "perception" a client will get if we stroll into a shoot with a small, but HD shooting camera, versus a big SD, but professional camera.

Can someone help me out with an answer for him, it would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Adam
