I'm working on a currently untitled horror film. I'm still deciding what I want to shoot it with, but I know it will be a mix of digital video and super 8. I'm looking at Dell's, but I'm not sure which ones have the better video card, or are suited best for movie editing. Any suggestions for laptops?

Also, what software would you recomend as an editor?

Thanks -
Crow

If you want speedy editing on a portable you'll need a higher-end model with a good graphics card, lots of storage and plenty of RAM. Have you looked at the Mac Book or Mac Book Pro (from what I've heard they can run Final Cut quite nicely--a MacBoook will be my primary editing machine when I go off to school)? If you have to go the PC route I'd suggest you skip on the Dells and go up to something like Sony or HP.
