Ok. I am going tot use this to tell you what I am planning, and if I am doing anything wrong.

First off, this is the first time I am planning to work with people I don't directly know, or have known. We are planning to use real CGI dinosaurs. This is our crew as of now:

A Director (me)
A Producer
2 writers
An Editor
A CGI artist
A composer

I feel I am covering all the neccesarry areas, because after all, I am only a kid. So I wouldn't really need a huge crew.

Pre-production

Currently, the script is still a work in progress. It is 17 pages long, and not nearly over. After we finish the script, I am going to do storyboards and scan them over to the crew members. I am going to shoot test CGI scenes. In which I shoot the scene twice. Once normal, once with a soccer ball representing the dino for a lighting check. Once we get all the neccesarry specs done, I will begin production.

Production

I am going to use the Gl-1. I feel this to be a great camera, and within my price range. I, again, am going to shoot two of each CGI scene, for lighting purposes. I am also going to make a list of all the objects that affect the lighting of scene. As well as shadows. I am also going to build a shooting schedule, so I can keep on task.

Post-Production

Once I transfer the video to my computer, I will send it off to the editor. He is going to use Premiere to splice scenes, and finely edit the material. Once he is finished, it next goes over to our CGI artist. He will add the neccesary shots, and fine tune the film where needed (i.e. we need a radio tower). After that it goes to our composer, who will then put the final touches on the film. He will also release a soundtrack. After all this mess, the final film goes back to me, where I will make about 40 copies of it on my home VCR. I will then sell it at school, where kids nip at my feet to see more dinosaurs. lol.

Now, we realize we have to be careful where we say Jurassic Park. We are going to relkease two versions. One with all the Jp fan film, type ordeal. Logo and music from the movie, the whole nine yards. The other version will be just a dinosaur movie. We also plan to send it to a few kid film festivals to test our luck. The one we will sell it the "dinosaur movie" version.

Some test shots our CGI guy put together are at http://www.glowsticks-band.co.uk/randle.htm

Also, another thing, we all started this because w ebelong to the website dansjp3page.com, so thats howwe all know each other.

Now. This is just a quick overview, but I am trying to pick out things I may be doing wrong. If anyone could criticize or make a strong point to what I am doing, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Joshua

Wow man good on ya. I too am macking my first film that involves alot of other people (at least the first one where i am in charge) and im also young (14). But my movie isint nearly as ambitious as yours, its a arthouse/drama piece that we are just about to start filming on. Its called "The man who cured death" (c) and its an interpritation of a song by the band "Alabaster Theatre".

Hm... Sounds like an interesting and different project to work on.

Your almost to filming? We are still on the script. It's coming along good, but trying to create matching dialogue and intense scenes proves a challenge with three writers across the internet.
