Is there any way to compress a movie into ".mov" format without purchasing Quicktime Pro? The program cost is over my budget.

Thanks,

Danny

Sure. Use the free version.

On the pulldown menu click "export" and choose the options you want.

Certified Instigator,

I found no such "pulldown" menu in Quicktime Standard. Can you be more specific?

Glad to.

I have the standard player version 6.5.1 downloaded free from the Apple site.

Open up the movie using QT.
The pulldown menu is at the top of your screen - called "File"
Click on file and the menu will appear
You will see a list of choices - just under "Save" and "Save as" you will see "Import" and "Export"
Click on Export and you will see more menu options - click there and you will see another "Export"
Click there an several options will pop up - you will want to click on "Movie to Quick Time Movie"
Then there are even more options - including compression, quality, frame rate, size and sound options.
Try the default settings as an experiment.
Then you can start playing with different settings to find out what is best for you.
