I read on another forum here that Celtx is a free but basic scriptwriting tool. I would like to download it into my other computer. Is it real?

It's certainly real. I haven't really used it, but it did look quite interesting when I had a quick look at it a couple of months ago... it didn't seem as slick as Final Draft for writing, but had a lot of production features that Final Draft doesn't, like tracking props and so on.

Celtx may not have as many features as expensive screenwriting software, but it does all the things you expect it to do -- formatting, importing/exporting, etc. It's a nice little piece of software at a good price.

I have used Final Draft and Celtx and Celtx really is a great software, and for the price (free) it can't be beat.

Celtx is amazing and I wouldn't even trade it for Final Draft at this point because it can integrate multiple documents/scripts/character profiles in one project. Web collaboration still needs some work and the interface still has some rough edges, but it's an amazing option for the perfect price.

I also find it impressive that within the course of a year, Celtx has gone from being a virtually anonymous app (remember when Final Draft was the only "real" screenwriting solution?) to being a viable alternative to pricey commercial software. I predict that in a year or two, Celtx will be competitive with Final Draft and will be on its way to becoming an industry standard--at least in low-budget and independent markets.
