What is the best way to shoot people being interviewed from a documentary. I plan to do "man on the street" type interviews but should I use a lapel mike or a regular mike? Also if I do interview some in a studio type setting, what mike would be better?

Get yourself a good "shotgun" mic and attach it to a boom pole. The Sennheiser ME-66 would be great for "man on the street", studio and any other setting you need.
