im making a music video too go towards my A2 media production,

I am hoping to include lots of cutaways and flashbacks and wonder if people could suggest some films in which flashbacks are used, to include into my research

Citizen Kane, Casablanca both use flashbacks that fit seamlessly in the movies. There was one Bogey movie (Dark Passage I think) that had flashbacks within flashbacks within a flashback. It was a bit confusing but eventually humorous (probably unintentionally so) if you thought about the absurdity of it. That would be an example of how not to do it (unless you want humor).

If you're looking for flashbacks with a different style that's another matter that requires more thinking, but in general flashbacks are set up in the narrative and then play out like any other scene.

The TV show Lost uses them quite effectively, seeing as though half of it is flashbacks...

Watch Memento too. That's a recent example of how flashbacks (sort-of) can be used in order to tell a story in a very unique and effective way. Great movie too.
