For school I have to either duplicate a scene from a movie or make a parody of a scene from a movie. I'd like to find a scene that has some special effects in it but not so crazy that it would look bad on a small budget. I just recently built a 20' X 10' greenscreen with one of my friends, which really widens the range of possibilities. Do any of you have any suggestions of some good scenes? I'd prefer to stay away from movies that are way overused and talked about like Napoleon Dynamite and the such; but am still open to anything. Thanks for your suggestions. -Ian B.

Maybe give a genre you are interested in doing and an approximate length the scene is supposed to be, if you have one. I just don't want to name some foreign film that has a scene that I would think would be cool to parody or reenact, only to have you say that you havent heard of/want to do that type of scene.

Really anything. Although, I'd rather have something in the action area than romance. As far as the time limit; it should only be several min long. If the scene is longer then several minutes but is something that I like I could just do a parody and cut it down a bit.

Okay, let's brainstorm a bit.

What are your five favorite movies?
Name the last two movies you saw that you really hated.
What three movies do your friends like and talk about the most?

Since nobody else has chimed in I'll try again.

Parody of Cloverfield. Your characters seem oblivious or unwilling to actually point their camera at the monster. You can film infront of your greenscreen and occasionally capture glimpses of a monster (created with special effects or stop-motion or whatever) but only glimpses because the cameraman is just more interested in the girl, or some shiney object, or whatever. You can have another character pleading for him to look at the monster or to run.

Or Jurassic Park.

Characters are visiting Jurassic park (use the green screen to figure out dinosaurs. Two folks and a guide are in a green jeep touring the park.

One: Oh, a Apatasaurus.
Guide; Very good, previously known as the Brontosaurus the Apatoasaurus is the correct name. This one we call Windy.
One: Wendy? Odd name for a Dinosaur isn't it?
Guide: Windy. Her name is Windy.
Two: It kind of stinks
Guide: Well reptiles tend to smell, unfortunately.
One: Yeah, my brother had an iguana and it stunk.
Two's eyes are watering.
Guide; You get used to it. The real problem is their diet makes them...
There is a tremendous fart sound. The Guides hat might even blow off.
Guide: It makes them gaseous.
One: Yeah, cucumbers do that to me.
Two is having trouble breathing.
Two: Can we move the damn car?
Guide: It's sort of a ride, it's pre-programmed.
Two: Well fix the program, I can't breathe.
The dino farts again. Everyone is getting sick.
Guide hits a big red button and air masks drop from the top of the car (like an airplane) and the passengers quickly put them over their faces.

Guide: Spared no expense.
The car starts moving again.
One: Bye Windy! Bye!

Not sure what happened to my first post on this topic. I probably killed it by accident. Anyway my first idea was:

Breakfast of the Dead. Breakast Club meets Night of the Living Dead. Five teens defend the detention hall from zombies, that is if they could stop bickering and trying to get the prom queen to date them first.
