I live in New York City, have a camcorder, computer, editting software and everything. The only small problem is that I'm turning 13 in 2 months... I'm wondering if anyone knows of competitions that will accept entries from my age group. Thanks in advance.

Well, I don't know of any specific to your age group, but I've never seen a non-specific film festival which refused entries because you were too young! The main problem would likely be that at your age you probably can't afford to make a movie as polished as most film festivals seem to want.
There's another site called www.studentfilmmakers.com which aims to specialise in student films, so someone there might be able to point you in the right direction for young film-makers' festivals.

They have festivals for all sorts of niches, 'tween' must be one of them.
I was going to say, I don't know of any film festivals who refuse films based on the age of the producer. Just make movies, don't even think about the festivals, man. Try asking your teachers if you can make movies instead of doing stupid projects. I did that and got most of my experience in high school making projects for french class or whatever.
If you really want to enter into film festivals where your age (which honestly does often put you at a disadvantage, I totally sympathize with you there) isn't a problem, look at local public acess channels they often have film contests. Ask your school too. Keep us updated.
