Auditions are the usual way filmmakers find their actors. You will find student filmmakers at colleges, universities, film schools and even high schools. Local theaters are sometimes a great place to find filmmakers. Often filmmakers go to acting schools to find actors.
There are on line places too. Use Google to find casting agents and places. Good key words are ?acting?, ?auditions?, and ?casting agents.?

Hi Cynthia,
Not sure what the situation is across the USA but when I was a film student here in the UK I found there to be poor links between the film school and actors. Casting our films was always more of a pain than it should have been so I would encourage you to approach the film schools and make yourself known to them...they'd be delighted!
All unis have student magazines, notice boards and websites so get your mug shot and phone no. out there.
